Humpty Dumpty Falls Prevention Program

Welcome to Miami Children’s Hospital Humpty Dumpty Falls Prevention Program™ Multi-Site Study.

The Humpty Dumpty Falls Prevention Program™ is a comprehensive program aimed at identifying patients who are at risk for falls as well as preventing fall events and injuries. This program was developed by an interdisciplinary group of falls experts derived from nursing, research, rehabilitation, quality improvement, and risk management. Programmatic materials include a validated falls risk scale, an intervention protocol, and patient education information.

The focus of this study is to: (a) validate the scale and program across multiple sites, and (b) compare the similarities and differences in risk for falls between sites. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of care and reduce injuries in the area of pediatric falls.
